9/12/16

We found two new investigators and one agreed to get baptized!  On the first lesson!  Her name is Danielle and she was an online referral wanting a Book of Mormon so she eventually got one (not sure how?) But we eventually met with her at the church and she had read the Plan of Salvation packet and totally believes and agrees all of it and she had already read the first 16 Chapters of 1 Nephi!!  She is crazy prepared and so excited.  We also committed her to baptism!  We don't have a set date but we are going to talk about it this week but she is so down!  She's excited to come to church and get this so Yesterday was her last day of work for the season (FOR THE NEXT FOUR MONTHS) and she was like yeah man I got all the time in the world to meet.  So we are going to try to meet with her like at least 3 times a week and she easily could be ready for two weeks from now.  So prayers would be awesome!

Also we met this guy Sohrab on the bus and invited him to English Class.  Turns out he already has super good English, he is from Iran, and he wanted to come anyway. We kinda introduced ourselves and he was like wait man I talked to some guys like you and he showed us his phone and it had the Elder's number so he already knows us. So he came to english class and he was the only one so we went outside and taught the first lesson. He already had a Book of Mormon and wants to learn more so that's super exciting. He came to church and said he invited his friend but his friend couldn't make it. But he wants to come as well. So we are super excited about that.

[On P-day we played Volleyball on the beach at Travemünde, we even saw Jellyfish!]

Well things were going good but our last two appointments [with Danielle] fell out because she was sick.  I'm super bummed about it.

But we had more appointments with Sohrab and he comes to church every week and is doing great.  He has Muslim background so it's hard for him to understand some things but he keeps coming to church and is at every appointment and he really wants to know the truth so he just keeps trying and it is great.  We got him to pray for the closing prayer and he finally understood how and it was so good.  I'm super excited.  He is super chill and wants to learn more so we are really excited.

We are getting Mig and Victor all hyped for the temple.  Yesterday we had an eating appointment with them at the Scheel's place and Bruder Scheel is super good at family history so we got them all started and got a ton of names put on Mig's tree so we are planning a second baptismal date and I'm super excited.  They may go to Copenhagen to the temple but if they end up going to Freiberg then we can go with them!  We just need to see what works with Victor's work schedule.  I'm super pumped.  And they're pumped to work toward getting sealed too. I am so excited for them oh my gosh.  Plus it's been fun to find stuff about their ancestors from Bulgaria and Nigeria.

July 10, 2017 - Hannover - Last Email!

[Gabby's Dad here, I constructed the post below from emails she sent us this week.  Since they were her last emails from the field I wanted to include them.] [Speaking of the heat in Utah] Oh no I'm gonna die when I get home.  It's raining right now and it is great.   100 is too hot, help me.  Today it is about 65 and it is beautiful.  I'm in so much trouble!   It's been a good week.  I was kinda sad for a bit then I just realized all the stuff I have to get done and I don't even have time to get sad oops.  It will be good.   Church was also really great.  I gave my testimony along with Elder Pruett bc he is also getting transferred and so that was neat.  We had a really good Sunday school, and Mia was also there.  She's been reading in the Book of Mormon and loves it.  She has lots of good questions that are super deep haha so we have been working on that.  We have an appointment with her tomorrow and i am really excited.     We hav

June 26, 2017 - Hannover-Whitewashing & Hildesheim Castle

Hey friends!   So I don't have a ton of time today, so it's gonna be short, and it's been a while but it's been really wonderful here in Hannover!  We have been working hard and it's getting there.  White washing is rough sometimes, and it gets discouraging when you don't have anyone to teach, but I have really learned here that the Lord watches out for you and blesses you in ways sometimes you don't recognize until later.   We have had a lot of cool experiences and a lot of fun as well.  Since I don't have a lot of time, I just want to let you all know how much the Lord cares for you and is there for you even when you may not notice until later.  But He is there! I love you all!   Lg, Sister Hammer PS sorry for the overload of pictures this is literally the first group email I've sent this transfer... June 19, 2017 - Hannover

Oh mannnnn This is crazy!  I have gotten a trillion emails from the mission about finishing and I'm like NOPE haha naja [oh well] its okay.  It'll be cool. Hannover is getting better.  It's going well here.  Still slow which sucks sometimes but it's picking up.   We had two investigators at church yesterday and it was really cool.  One just kinda showed up and wanted to check it out.  So we sat with her and helped explain everything, and she stayed for all three hours and loved it.  Sister Koch said she was just freuing herself [rejoicing] during my talk in sacrament meeting. (I'm so bad at giving talks in church it is terrifying.)  Anyway, she was really excited during Sunday  school and relief society too.  She even stayed for the Elder's investigator's baptism and loved it.  She's coming next week too.  And the other investigator was a lady we have been trying to contact forever.  And she is friends with a member, and he said to let us know when we
